What is a rare pepper?

A rare pepper is, as its name suggests, a pepper that you won’t find everywhere. There’s a good chance that some of the peppers in my selection are completely unknown to you. And that’s my challenge today: to introduce you to incredible peppers whose existence you never suspected. I love seeking out rarity and excellence. I fell in love with these peppers just as I fell in love with vanilla. Piper is a fabulous product in its variety. You won’t find two identical peppers – that’s the secret of these spices. Now is the time to treat yourself to a pepper mill and pepper shaker worthy of the name, to proudly grind and serve this product to your guests.

David Vanille's Pepper: the choice of quality... and taste

For those who know my products, you understand how much importance I place on quality. If I travel the world in search of rare peppers, it’s not to offer you supermarket quality. And the success of my peppers is undoubtedly the best proof of their quality. My customers keep coming back for more and I do my utmost to offer new rare origins. Great chefs appreciate my peppers and other spices – it’s a wonderful reward for the passionate person I am. I’ll let you discover my selection and, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me.

Varied flavors to season your dishes

When we talk about rare peppers, we immediately think of the variety of flavors. Black pepper reinvents itself when we discover Nosy Be from Madagascar. It presents fresh and floral notes for a beautiful aromatic balance. Wild red pepper from Madagascar comes this time from the island’s primary forests. Spicy and mild at the same time, it subtly flavors all your dishes. If you watch trendy cooking shows, you’ve certainly heard of Timut pepper. Acclaimed by great chefs, this pepper comes from Nepal and offers completely unique grapefruit notes. This rare pepper doesn’t wait for tasting to make you fall under its spell. It will tantalize your sense of smell as soon as you open the bag. Also discover Kampot pepper. Black pepper or red pepper – everyone has their own flavors. I selected this rare pepper in Cambodia for its subtle aromas and long finish. In Ethiopia, I discovered a passion fruit pepper. This may seem surprising and yet… spicy and sweet at the same time, it brings an exotic note to your sauced dishes and offers them another dimension. No need to talk about it for hours – this pepper cannot be described, it must be tasted. Let’s go this time to Vietnam, India and Brazil with my 4-pepper blend. Black pepper, green pepper, white pepper and pink berries – find all the flavors of pepper in an absolutely delicious blend. This aromatic assembly is worth discovering. Impossible not to mention Sansho pepper, a rare pepper I discovered in Japan. Its original shape, its captivating fragrance, its yuzu notes – everything makes this pepper absolutely essential in your kitchen in both savory and sweet dishes. Cancel your plane tickets – the journey happens on your plate. Long pepper from Java is one of my favorites. Spicy flavors, a taste between cinnamon and raw cocoa, woody notes – nothing more is needed. But this pepper, beyond its aromatic characteristics, stands out for its originality. It doesn’t come in berry form, but in catkins. Piper Longum is grated like nutmeg to flavor your dishes. Like vanilla, it can also be placed whole in your simmered dishes to perfume them. Selim pepper from Côte d’Ivoire is, for its part, a rare pepper with coconut notes. Imagine it for a moment coming to perfume wonderful chicken fillets with pineapple. It too is a long pepper, but this time it takes the form of a bean pod. The list is long – I’ll let you discover for yourself the variety of my rare peppers to choose the one that will delight your taste buds.
